Teak wood

Teak is a globally sought-after hardwood from South and Southeast Asia. This hard and stable noble wood is particularly popular for furniture construction and is used for both indoor and outdoor furniture.

Teak's color is rather dark brown, streaked with darker stripes. Especially when exposed to weather, teak develops a silvery-gray patina and a rather dull wood surface. Due to a relatively high rubber content in the outer heartwood layers, teak furniture is highly water-repellent, abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and weather-resistant.

The teak tree is predestined for wood production. It grows up to 40 meters tall and has hardly any branches in the lower 20 meters. In tropical climates, several growth spurts can occur within a year, which can then be clearly seen in the trunk cross-section.

In its native countries, teak is also used for building houses and bridges. In Myanmar, for example, there is the world's longest teak bridge, measuring 1200 meters – it has existed since 1849!

Teak furniture looks noble and lasts forever – making it a good investment for quality-conscious consumers.
