A rope chair consists of a robust frame and durable rope covering made of synthetic fabric. Therefore, such a chair is ideal for outdoors, for the garden, patio, balcony, or conservatory. The covering is very durable, and post-treatment such as sanding, priming, painting, oiling, etc., is not necessary.
Polyester is usually used as the rope material. It is simultaneously durable, UV-stable, and elastic. You sit comfortably, air can circulate through the gaps in the rope covering, and the chair surface is breathable, so you don't 'stick' to the backrest or seat when you sweat.
The covering also dries quickly if the chair gets wet. In winter or when not in use, a rope chair can be stacked and stored in a space-saving way.
Which areas of use are predestined for rope chairs?
Gardens, patios, balconies, or in the commercial sector, beer gardens, ice cream parlors, and outdoor catering are the preferred areas of use for rope chairs. There is hardly any work involved, and you have a chair with a long lifespan that can be stacked and stored in a space-saving way when not in use.
Due to the covering with air-permeable polyester ropes, post-treatment, as with wooden chairs, is not necessary. Thanks to the breathable seat and backrest, sitting is comfortable even at high temperatures; shirts and blouses do not stick as with plastic chairs, thus minimizing sweat stains on clothing.
The elaborate wiping dry of chairs after a downpour is not necessary; the covering dries again in a short time.
In smaller dining areas or kitchens, a rope chair with a bistro table is also optimally suited for indoors – the visual impression of the lightweight chairs fits well with cramped spaces and does not appear overcrowded in a small room.
In the conservatory, a rope chair is also ideal; there is no risk of mold and mildew stains as with natural materials.
In the catering areas of swimming pools or outdoor pools, a rope chair is also optimally suited. Wet swimwear or increased humidity do not affect the woven chair, as it does not absorb moisture into the covering.
How do you care for a rope chair?
Rope chairs are absolutely easy to care for. To remove dust, use a hand vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth, or for a larger number of chairs, simply use the garden hose.
Otherwise, you should only make sure that no rust spots form on the frame, as rust can stain the ropes, especially with lighter coverings.
